We satisfy Santa’s sweet craving with milk and cookies the night before Christmas, but what can we leave the Easter Bunny? Well, we have a bunch of ideas! I think it’s safe to say that the Easter Bunny has a thing for seasonal veggies, considering carrots are one of its favorite foods. I have compiled a list of some fun, springtime snack ideas, great for the little one to share with the Easter Bunny.
- Carrots –Carrots are such a versatile springtime snack. You can dip raw baby carrots in allergen-friendly dips like hummus and guacamole. If your child prefers softer textures, try cooking the carrots until smooth and then mash them as you would mashed potatoes. For a little added flavor, season them with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Strawberries – Did you know strawberries are the first fruit to ripen in the Spring? Strawberries also make great dippers. Dip berries in yogurt of choice, and then place on a baking sheet to set and then freeze for an hour. If your child has a dairy allergy, try plant-based yogurt alternatives like Kate Hill’s Almond milk yogurt or SoDelicious Coconut Milk yogurt. Also, nothing says springtime like pastel colors. Before dipping the berries, add natural purple, pink, baby blue, and yellow food coloring to the yogurt for even more seasonal fun.
- Kale – Kids generally prefer sweeter foods, so it can sometimes be a challenge to get them to eat their green veggies, like kale! I have a possible solution, try a smoothie! Smoothies are a great way to hide veggies! Check out this kid-friendly green smoothie with no added sugar. Click here

- Apples – We can’t technically prove that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but we are quite sure apples can’t keep the Easter bunny away. This tasty springtime veggie is not only full of Vitamin C and antioxidants, but also makes for some fun snack ideas, like Apple donuts! Simply, slice apples about 3/4″ thick and use a knife, corer, or pastry tip to make a hole in the center. Then, while using the same colorful yogurt mix, decorate your apple donut. Optional, add sprinkles!
