A food allergy is an abnormal immune response to a particular food, called the allergen. When the allergen is ingested, the body recognizes it as a foreign substance and produces antibodies that trigger inflammation and other reactions such as swelling, hives, stomach upsets and a dry throat. In severe cases, a food allergy can result in an anaphylactic reaction, which involves the breathing and circulatory system, and can be life threatening.
Some of the most commonly reported food allergies in America include allergies to cow’s milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat.
If you have a diagnosed food allergy you should completely avoid this particular type of food to clear your symptoms and help you feel well again.

All of the Freedom Foods cereals and bars are nut free* as we are producing them in a dedicated factory that does not use and tests for the presence of Peanut Almond Hazelnut and Walnut. Some of our products are still made in other factories where nuts may be processed so at this stage not all of the Freedom Foods products are nut free. If in doubt, please give us a call on (freecall) 805 909 1717.
*Always check the packaging for specific information – if a product is nut free it will be clearly communicated on the front of the packaging.
We always choose fruit juice over refined cane sugar where possible. We usually use apple juice.
